QUADMED MAINTAINS AAAHC ACCREDITATION AND SUSTAINS COMMITMENT TO CLINICAL QUALITY
SUSSEX, Wisconsin, Nov. 7, 2019 -- QuadMed, a leading employer-sponsored health care provider, has maintained its status as an AAAHC-accredited organization after completing a rigorous compliance survey by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) last month.
AAAHC accreditation validates a medical practice’s willingness to exceed minimum expectations for quality ambulatory patient care. DeeDee Baka, director of clinical quality at QuadMed, explained that the accreditation is a testament to the high levels of quality and safety in the health center.
“AAAHC is the leader in developing standards for ambulatory health care quality,” said Baka. “Being accredited by the AAAHC shows that QuadMed follows the gold standard in clinical quality.”
QuadMed was the first employer-sponsored health care provider to achieve AAAHC network accreditation, and the company has maintained its accreditation status ever since. To ensure compliance over time, AAAHC periodically reviews standards in the organizations that they accredit.
Last month’s review was conducted at a QuadMed health and wellness center in Milwaukee. The two-day survey consisted of on-site observations and interviews by independent surveyors. Accreditation policies and over 500 standards were analyzed to ensure compliance with AAAHC guidelines.
The compliance standards are associated with characteristics that the AAAHC has determined to be essential to high-quality patient care, including patient rights and responsibilities, administration, governance, facilities and environment, clinical records, health information and more.
Maintaining AAAHC accreditation is just one way that QuadMed continues to strengthen their commitment to clinical quality excellence. The company has also achieved a Certified status for information security from HITRUST®, and holds a Cybersecurity Framework certification from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
