MAYVILLE ENGINEERING COMPANY PARTNERS WITH QUADMED TO DELIVER AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE TO EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES

SUSSEX, WISCONSIN, Oct. 24, 2019 -- On Tuesday, October 22, the Mayville Engineering Company (MEC) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house to celebrate the opening of their new QuadMed-managed MEC Family Health Center.

Among the employees and families in attendance were representatives from MEC and QuadMed. Cliff Sanderson, Vice President of Human Resources at MEC, and Jeanne Scheide, President of QuadMed, both spoke at the ceremony and expanded on the benefits of the worksite health center.

“We opened this health center for our employee shareholders to make it convenient to get appropriate care at a reasonable cost,” said Sanderson, “with practitioners that get to practice medicine as they were taught, not according to some large health care system’s business plan.”

Located on MEC’s Mayville campus, the health center provides full primary care services to over 1,000 MEC employees and their families. With a focus on prevention, the center offers physicals, screenings and immunizations, as well as lab services, treatment for illnesses and injuries and minor procedures. The health center also assists in management of conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

The MEC Family Health Center is independently managed and staffed by QuadMed, a Wisconsin-based, employer-sponsored health care solutions leader that oversees an array of health centers across the nation.
“QuadMed is privileged to partner with such an innovative, forward-thinking company that is dedicated to excellence and best in class performance,” said Scheide. “The opening of this center is a testament to the vision and unwavering commitment of MEC’s leadership team to the health and well-being of their workforce and their families.”

Founded in 1945, MEC is an employee-owned, metal fabrication company that supports a wide range of industries. For over 70 years, MEC has been committed to their employees, and the addition of the health center is yet another significant investment in the workforce of the value-focused organization.

A driving principle at MEC is P.R.I.D.E., or Personal Responsibility in Daily Excellence. The acronym guides the behavior of employees’ work, but it also corresponds with the purpose of the health center, which is to make patients active participants in their own health, and to help them live better, healthier lives.

“We absolutely could not have chosen a better partner to work with,” said Sanderson. “There is a reason that QuadMed is the pioneer in onsite clinics, and we here at MEC have come to know why.”
