QUADMED NURSE BRINGS HOME NURSING EXCELLENCE AWARD
SUSSEX, Wisconsin, Jan. 26, 2020 -- Our QuadMed health care providers have worked heroically during the COVID pandemic, putting their own well-being at risk while providing care for their patients with passion, purpose and true grit.
So it was a special thrill when QuadMed nurse Tracy Meddaugh, RN, was recognized in the 2020 Milwaukee Magazine Excellence in Nursing Awards, published in the December issue. Tracy is a provider at the QuadMed Sussex, WI health center.
Created in collaboration with the Wisconsin Nursing Association, the awards recognize nurses in a variety of specialties who have made extraordinary contributions to health care. Tracy was nominated in the clinician category by Aggy Lun, MD, a physician and group medical director with the QuadMed Sussex health center.
“Tracy is motivated by a deep love and concern for all her patients,” Dr. Lun said. “Her strength lies in her capacity to build trust and rapport with those in her care.”
Tracy, a Delafield resident, joined QuadMed six years ago. A former hospital-based nurse, Tracy says QuadMed’s worksite primary care health center provides the nursing environment she loves.
“QuadMed puts the patient first. We’re a multi-disciplinary team looking at the whole person,” she explains. “Because we have longer appointment visits, we have the time to get to know each other and really form a relationship.”
Tracy’s patients see her as a friend, not just a provider. Even though they know she will lovingly chase them down if they haven’t come in for necessary check-ups or lab work. Her patients often stop by the clinic to proudly show off their weight loss or share improved blood sugar levels.
“I’m honored to receive this award, but everyone in the health care field deserves recognition for the important job they do,” Tracy said. “Not just during the COVID crisis, but every day.” "
